Fred Viole, Trading and Research, is responsible for developing and executing trading strategies, monitoring markets and positions. He is responsible for the development of OVVO's proprietary neural network CHORAL, offering its investors guidance via a non-linear, heterodox approach.
Fred's career began at Morgan Stanley as an Assistant Trader to the Special Situations Group in 1998. From there, Fred went on to become Head Trader for a Momentum Securities Group where he was the first prop trader to exceed $1M in profits. He was also ranked in the top 25 Momentum traders nationally.Fred has trained and mentored over 50 traders, many of whom are still actively trading.
Transitioning into different markets, Fred began concentrating on commodities and FX. He has had tremendous success over recent years, culminating with his victory in an international trading contest consisting of 10,000 participants. Fred also placed 3rd in a similar contest. His experience with multiple asset classes has allowed him to exploit relative value imbalances, on top of other cross-asset strategies. Also, his quantitative research has enabled him to access multiple markets and pairings providing a natural diversification, evolving into a true global macro fabric.
Fred received his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Villanova University, allowing him to complement his trading with a solid macroeconomic, probability and simulated analysis foundation.
